Woodmill Art Studio is run by local artists Louise Ørsted Jensen and Rachael Clark.
Together, we bring experience across painting, printmaking, mixed media and performance art. Our workshops combine practical techniques with creative exploration, whether focusing on a single process or experimenting across a range of materials.
Held in the light-filled top room at Woodmill, our sessions are welcoming, inspiring and designed to help everyone leave with artwork they're proud of, greater creative confidence, and new skills to build on.

Create a beautiful contemporary lampshade that's completely unique to you in this relaxed acrylic painting workshop.
Inspired by modern abstract design, you'll learn how to build bold shapes, layered textures and balanced compositions using acrylic paints and simple design principles. We'll guide you through colour, pattern and composition while encouraging you to develop your own interpretation, so no two lampshades will ever look the same.
Whether you prefer earthy neutrals, bold statement colours or soft contemporary palettes, you'll leave with a professionally finished lampshade that's ready to brighten up your home.

Workshop Details

As the nights draw in, join us for an evening of lino printing inspired by the darker side of nature.
Taking inspiration from moths, crows, ravens, bats, black cats, bones, moons and other nocturnal motifs, you’ll create your own lino design before carving and printing it by hand. We’ll have plenty of inspiration to help you develop a design that feels like your own.
You’ll learn:
The process of transferring a design to lino
Safely carving your block
Experimenting with printing
Adding texture with embossing
No previous lino printing experience is needed – we’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
You'll take home several prints from the workshop and we have different paper and card stock for you to print on.

What to wear: The ink “may” get on you despite having aprons so don’t wear anything too fancy!!
The workshop takes place in our beautiful, light-filled studio on the top floor of Woodmill Coffee & Kitchen, tucked away at the top of the historic mill. For this autumn evening workshop, expect a relaxed atmosphere, twinkling lights and plenty of time to carve, print and experiment.
All materials are included – simply come along ready to make something a little darker than usual!!
Please note that because the ink takes time to dry, we will get in contact to let you know when your prints are ready to collect after the workshop!
Dive into a unique creative experience with our Underwater Inks Workshop on the 14th October! Explore the ways ink behaves beneath the surface of water, creating flowing patterns, unexpected textures, and beautiful abstract effects.
During the workshop, you’ll experiment with different inks, brush techniques and colours. We will also guide you through special techniques such as salts, masking fluids and alcohol while discovering how movement, water, and gravity can shape your artwork. No previous artistic experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get a little experimental.
What to expect:
- Technique testing: We’ll guide you through a range of techniques on practice sheets
- Warmup exercise: Creating a jellyfish image using the techniques just learnt
- Final image: Create an underwater inspired image whether it’s a whale, fish, turtle…the choice is yours!
No drawing experience is necessary. We have templates but of course, the option is there to draw freehand if preferred!
Come along, have fun, and create something completely your own!
