As the nights draw in, join us for an evening of lino printing inspired by the darker side of nature.
Taking inspiration from moths, crows, ravens, bats, black cats, bones, moons and other nocturnal motifs, you’ll create your own lino design before carving and printing it by hand. We’ll have plenty of inspiration to help you develop a design that feels like your own.
You’ll learn:
The process of transferring a design to lino
Safely carving your block
Experimenting with printing
Adding texture with embossing
No previous lino printing experience is needed – we’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
You'll take home several prints from the workshop and we have different paper and card stock for you to print on.
Where: Top floor of Woodmill Coffee & Kitchen
When: Wednesday 28th October, 7-10pm
What to wear: The ink “may” get on you despite having aprons so don’t wear anything too fancy!!
The workshop takes place in our beautiful, light-filled studio on the top floor of Woodmill Coffee & Kitchen, tucked away at the top of the historic mill. For this autumn evening workshop, expect a relaxed atmosphere, twinkling lights and plenty of time to carve, print and experiment.
All materials are included – simply come along ready to make something a little darker than usual.
Please note that because the ink takes time to dry, we will get in contact to let you know when they’re ready to collect after the session!
